Clean Your Air

Spring is in full bloom and that usually causes my family's allergy attacks to begin. It also makes me crazy because I have the urge to clean the house from top to bottom. Naturally, time constraints and raising two children prevents me from spending as much time as I'd like on deep cleaning. So, I try to do what I can when I have spare moments.

The folks at Filtrete know how important it is to keep our homes clean and healthy. While most of us worry about dirty dishes in the sink and piles of laundry overflowing from the baskets, it's important to make sure the air we breathe is clean and free from dust mites, dander and pollen.

While I haven't tried Filtrete filters, I make an effort to dust our book shelves, mantle and ceiling fans on a weekly basis if not more. My husband washes windows and walls whenever he has the chance, and we vacuum our floors once daily.

I noticed we have fewer allergy attacks when we tackle the little things like dusting and polishing all those surfaces.

What kinds of cleaning tips do you have to share? I'd love to hear them!

Hot Moms-to-Be: This Book is for You!

When I was pregnant with my children I never felt that I looked good. I was always worried about my weight, and I felt that all those pregnancy ailments were wrecking havoc on my hair, my skin and the rest of my body.

I really wish I had a copy of the book The Hot Mom to Be Handbook: Look and Feel Great from Bump to Baby by Jessica Denay. Denay is a blogger and founder of the online community Hot Moms Club. She believes that a hot mom is a woman who is confident and her book discusses pregnancy and motherhood from an honest perspective. Denay is not afraid to offer advice that is realistic and helpful.

She talks about a wide range of subjects, from healthy eating habits to baby showers, the best diaper bags and baby gear. I love the tone of the book. I felt like I was having a conversation with a friend instead of reading a scientific novel on all things pregnancy and baby.

Denay mixes humor with her information and even touches on the subject of piercings as she tells the reader to pass on breastfeeding if you've got a nipple ring (which I DO NOT might I add).

Overall this book is charming and funny and I appreciated all the advice and information.

Check it out at your local book store, or online if you prefer to shop over the internet.

Get Out of the Office with FedEx

Have you checked out FedEx’s Out of Office blog? It has so many fun and creative do-it-yourself solutions and projects for many occasions!

I spent many days browsing all the different ideas on this blog. The Home Helper and Parent Project sections are my favorites! And the Business Builder! You must click the link, right now! Go on! See the awesomeness? Who knew FedEx was so cool?

We received a craft pack from FedEx and with instructions to make personalized book marks, as well as crayons, ribbon and wrapping paper strips, and stickers. Dawson is a fantastic artist and he went right to work on his project. Using the FedEx blog for ideas, we each made our own bookmark and I plan on taking them to FedEx to laminate them. (Pictures to follow, my card reader isn't working properly these days.)

What are your favorite ideas from the FedEx Out of Office blog?
